Over the decades, numerous wineries have used Cole Ranch fruit. However, they uniquely have an added cane trellised California sprawl-style to control vigor. The vines are dry-farmed and trained as goblet bush vines. Its section of Riesling is some of the oldest in California–planted in the early 1970s. winemaker Cody Rasmussen stumbled upon Cole Ranch in 2016.
